A resident has spoken out after a man was spotted dumping a bed in a back alley in Blackburn.
The CCTV footage shows a man placing a bed behind Nottingham Street in the Audley area of the town.
A resident said the community had made a huge effort to clear the streets and this was unfair on those who had took pride in their neighbourhoods.
She said: “It is in the alley way near my window.
“We have worked so hard to clear the mess and here some outsider can come up and tip his waste in our back alley. He threw the mattress at the end of Nottingham Street.
“I think the council should take some sort of action to stop this sort of unfair behaviour.
“I feel we are being penalised for being clean as they think that we will dispose off their rubbish for them. I am annoyed but at the same time sad that we have failed to educate people like these.”
Further sections of the bed were placed on Ripon Street.
In recent months Blackburn with Darwen Council has reminded residents it will take incidents of alleged fly-tipping very seriously.
All residents across the borough were told that anyone they are using to remove their waste must be authorised and reputable otherwise. You will be liable for a fine if evidence links the waste to you.
