New police and crime comissioner outlines priorities

LANCASHIRE’S new Police and Crime Commissioner has pledged to boost public confidence in the force.

Andrew Snowden outlined his plan to lead the fight against crime and make people feel safer during the first Police and Crime Panel since he was elected in May.

Its annual meeting heard him outline his Police and Crime Plan for his four-year term of office at the meeting in Blackburn’s King George’s Hall on Tuesday.

He promised it would address issues that matter most to people such as anti-social behaviour and drug dealing, whilst ensuring that vulnerable people are protected.

Mr Snowden said:”I am looking forward to working constructively with the Police and Crime Panel to ensure that we deliver what the people of Lancashire want, a police force that provides the best possible service that the public have confidence will be there when they need them

“My message remains a simple one, I am on your side.I will support the force in cracking down on criminals, making sure all of Lancashire’s areas and communities feel protected and work with the Chief Constable on the issues that matter to people, such as anti-social behaviour and getting tough on reoffending.”
