Michael John Trickett, of Aspen Lane, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a bravely fought battle with cancer on May 27.

Throughout his life Michael was a hard worker and the 78-year-old served as a corporal in the Royal Air Service Corps.

He also, worked as a manager at Tilcon/Trumix, also drove HGVs for a time and later worked at Lancashire County Council in the Operations Department before taking his retirement.

During his retirement and in his spare time, he loved gardening and was well known up Aspen Lane for his immaculate and beautiful garden. He also loved his cars and he could often be seen washing and polishing them on his driveway. He also enjoyed reading books, especially ones on war and history. He was also a big family man and loved spending time with them.

Michael also dedicated a lot of his time to numerous dementia groups and organisations after his beloved wife Norma was diagnosed. He helped spread the word about the support available, as well as campaigning for patients living with dementia to have tailored treatment in hospital, using the Butterfly Scheme. He was also a member and supporter of his local Royal British Legion Branch of Church and Oswaldtwistle.

He was a devoted and beloved husband of the late Norma, a loving father of Michelle, Jeanette, Maxine and Joanne, a dear father in law of Michael and Anthony and a much loved grandfather and great grandfather.
