Check out our releases on SoundCloud and YouTube Music. We’re currently working on new originals! I also love to read. I recently read Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton and Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier. One of my favorite books is Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. Check it out! We should do a book club one day!
Ian is the creator and host of Weekend Anthems.
After spending three years with the corporation, he moved into commercial radio working at stations in Sussex, Gloucestershire and Hertfordshire before moving back to Kent and joining what is now KM-FM. He has always loved house and dance music from its early days listening to the likes of Farley “Jackmaster” Funk to today and artists like Joel Corry, Mark Knight, Purple Disco Machine, Ku De Ta and M-22 to name just a few. Aside from radio, Ian still loves playing the club scene and can often be found out and about around the country bringing the biggest beats to the floors.
Nige has been on the radio for over 30 years and has been involved in that time with hospital radio, community radio, rsl’s and has also worked production and Commercial Production for Radio City. He has met and worked with people like Billy Butler, Bill Mitchell (famous voice over), Pete Best, Ken Dodd, Bill Oddie, Keith Skues and many more.
Nigel has always had a keen interest in 194 Radio City and used to run a website that was a tribute to the memory of the good old 194 days but now runs a 194 Radio City group on Facebook. Nigels interest in music is reflected in his shows with 60s, 70s, easy listening, Northern Soul, novelty songs and lots of songs we all know and love but you don’t hear on the radio any more.

I have always wanted to work in radio as a presenter. I would play my dads records with a handbrush as a microphone. I first got involved in radio. When my mum worked in a shop in liverpool. A man told my mum about hospital radio. She told him about my interest in radio. It was later I got to meet people on the wards & chat to them. Playing songs on my show for them. I continued presenting on community radio stations , RL’S and commercial radio stations. Drive time & a Sunday afternoon shows. Two of the stations was Bliss Radio. & Radio Wave in Blackpool. I have done some interviews for radio this started off with Some of the cast in Les Miserables in the Manchester Opera house
which gained me a front row seat. I also interviewed some of the cast of the popular Australian soap neighbours. I had the pleasure of interviewing Sir Ken Dodd such a lovely man also Barry Cryer who wrote scripts for The Two Ronnie’s & Morcambe & wise. I Worked at Radio City in Liverpool. Assisting Pete Waterman with his Saturday morning show in Liverpool. Currently I got to meet some of the singing artists that worked for him. The Boy group Big Fun & Sonia.
I’m currently now working for Bolt Radio which is powered by great management Liam Kenddy & a great line up of presenters. I am thrilled to be part of Bolt Radio listeners family and truly honoured to be the presenter of the Evening show and weekend Breakfast. I cant wait to keep listeners company maybe in the evening when they are relaxing or easing you into your weekend morning being the first voice you hear while you get ready for your day or maybe setting off for work, making their morning cup of tea or coffee Excited to be on such a fantastic station that plays such good music 24 hours day. Join me Mark Thomas Evenings 6.00pm – 9.00pm Weekend Breakfast 07.00 am – 10.00 am.
Hello, I’m Luke Smithurst and I present the Mid Morning Show here on Hits. Tune into my show on Wednesday 10am-12pm for some unrivalled shenanigans and great tunes to see you into the afternoon. When I started out, I cut my teeth presenting on the student radio station at my university, where I presented the award-winning show “Late Night Blues with Luke Smithurst.” Whilst studying at uni, I also gained industry experience on a number of media placements that included working for Heart North Lancashire and Cumbria and also BBC 1’s Inside Out North West. Since then, I’ve been involved with community radio and podcasting which has been an immensely enjoyable experience. My latest podcast project, “The University Diaries Podcast with Luke Smithurst”, is available on all major streaming services and has also been played on BBC Radio Cumbria’s Upload series. I’m very excited to be presenting on Hits and I’ll look forward to hearing from anyone that gives my show a listen.
Big Tommy started spinning the plastic during the early 80s & 90s
in the pubs & clubs of Glasgow and Lanarkshire in Scotland UK.
He’s been involved with community and commercial radio in Scotland from 2006
and has been on various different radio stations worldwide
with his Big Fat Party Anthems Show
In the breaks from playing his favourite music from the 70s and 80s
Tommy loves to eat pasta, pizza, kebabs and of course, a good “chinese”
That could be why they call him “Big Tommy”…
Ginger And Nuts
THE UNPREDICTABLE GINGER AND NUTS

Their unpredictable show is a unique blend of banter, studio mayhem, as well as a good balance of feel-good tunes from all decades.
Over the years, they have interviewed the likes of Gloria Gaynor, Marty Wilde, Britt Ekland, John Challis ‘Boycie’ and the late Sir Ken Dodd, as well as other big names.
They’ve also worked in partnership with Disney, Marvel, Lush, Shark Ninja and Empire Cinemas. So, I guess they must be l doing something right!
Recently, the cheeky pair launched a radio promo that claims a new Pandemic known as ‘Ginger and Nuts’ is likely to attack your chuckle muscles and cause infectious laughter.
People are also warned that listening to them is likely going to lift your mood.
Due to their popularity, they launched a VIP Listeners Club that includes an official certificate. Yet, it’s not all smiles.
BEHIND THE MIC
Behind the mic, Darren (Nuts) struggles with anxiety and depression, and he rarely leaves his home without his wife and never answers the door.
He also struggles with Arthritis, Spine Disease, and has a small syrinx (cyst) in his spine. He also suffers with Fibromyalgia which causes chronic pain throughout the body together with debilitating exhaustion. Some days he can’t move due to the pain.
He has openly talked about mental health and how he has wanted take his own life just to escape the pain.
Katherine (Ginge) is Darren’s carer but if all this wasn’t enough, she’s had her own problems too.
Kat has had seven miscarriages, and on Father’s Day last year, she collapsed, went unconscious and nearly died. Their little angel was just 13 weeks old. Understandably, they were both devastated.
Darren adde: “It’s hard to explain, but when I am in front of the microphone, despite my chronic pain, anxiety and heartache, I become this different person, we both do.
“We banter, have fun, and I guess we just want to make others happy”.
