It’s finally ‘Freedom Day’, which means the return of nightclubs and partying on the dancefloor.
Nightclubs are among the businesses which have remained closed since the very start of the pandemic in 2020.
However, now the majority of lockdown restrictions have ceased club owners have thrown open their doors to the public- with some opening at the strike of midnight.
East Lancashire’s nightclubs were no exception and people were excited to queue up outside local venues and finally have a dance with each other.
It looked like a fantastic night in Bees Knees branches across Lancashire.
Bees Knees in Accrington celebrated their midnight opening with a countdown and a confetti canon.
Jubilant scenes followed with Be Faithful by Fatman Scoop playing in the background.
Bees Knees wrote on Facebook: “Accrington you can dance!
“We’ve waiting 12 months to let you do this.”
The club then posted pictures of party goers on the dance floor
Punters at Bees Knees pub in Burnley were also spotted celebrating.
They posted a photo to Facebook with the caption “We can dance again”.
The Blackburn branch also showed happy visitors finally able to “dance the night away”.
Mode nightclub in Burnley were also back open at the strike of midnight, boasting a fully-stocked bar and music from DJ Jay Robbo.
Over on their Instagram story, they posted a video of a packed dance floor with people dancing to a remix.
If you are worried about having missed out on the clubbing antics, other East Lancashire clubs will be reopening later this month.
Ships and Giggles on Hammerton Street, which was formerly MACs nightclub, is currently open as a bar- but Andy has plans to reopen a once-loved nightclub room once restrictions ease.
The owner exclusively revealed that they will be opening the ‘Redroom’ on their top floor- a room which was popular at MACS Burnley before it burned down in 2019.
The club will officially be open on Friday 23 July from 10pm.
Entry to the Redroom will be free until 11pm and £3 between 11 and 12pm; after midnight it’s £5.
It can be accessed via the Ships and Giggles main entrance.
Rios Bar and Club on Accrington Road in Whalley is reopening on 30 July.
