Barber returns to Blackburn to open new shop

A BARBER has returned home to open a second shop after spending years in the south.

Israr Ali, from Blackburn, has opened another AD’s Barbers with his first one still being run in Maidenhead, Berkshire, after he moved there in 2008.

Now living in Great Harwood, the 35-year-old said it was amazing to be back and he cannot wait to get to know the community again.

He said: “I moved because I knew some barbers there and got my training done.

“After Covid I thought I should move back up here where I grew up and give back to the community, “I see a lot of youngsters standing around in the streets and want to offer them the opportunity to train with me.”

Mr Ali opened his first barber shop in 2015, which usually has waiting times of up to two hours on a walk-in system.

But the Blackburn barber said: “I do not really call that life because all you do is work, work and work.

“In Blackburn, I have time to see friends and family so I can say that I have got my life back.

“I can even go back to the gym and make time for myself.”

The speciality of the new shop is skin fades, already a popular trend in London and now becoming more common in the North West.
